Every game room or private home bar needs to be decorated and accessorized properly. This is the place where every hard working family member retreats to for a much needed R&R. The last thing they want know is that they’re still only a few feet away from everyday life’s trials and tribulations. What’s the solution?
It’s easy to find the little decorations such as team clocks, glassware with the team logos, or sports memorabilia to display on the walls, but starting out with the big ticket items such as the refrigerator and ice maker for the beverage center and working out will simplify and focus the decorating and theme process.
Many ideas and inspiration can be found online. Avoid the brick and mortar home improvement stores or the appliance stores looking for the one unique fridge for that best buy. Sure a great price may be found at those brick and mortar retailers, but only if you want a generic white or drab black finish for your fridge.
After the fridge is installed, now is the time to focus on installing themed lights and window treatments. This will be thirsty work. Fortunately there is a fridge nearby with your favorite drinks, right? After spending a few hours struggling with hanging the new lights a chair will be needed to rest those weary feet and backs. Now’s the time to hop online to search for the perfect lounging chair to compliment the theme being developed. This is also the time to get any game tables that need to be installed.
Once the furniture has been setup and put in place, now comes the most enjoyable task. There shouldn’t be a rush to find decorations or pictures with which to adorn the walls. Take the spare time to find those special pieces that will add just the right flavor to your shrine of leisure. The best places to look for those rare jewels are at flea markets or online auction websites. But be careful. It’s easy to go overboard and acquire too much clutter. This will only defeat the purpose of having a room strictly for escaping and relaxing.
